How to convert standard atmospheres to bars
This changes units only. Gauge and absolute pressures need a known ambient pressure to relate them; the converter does not add atmospheric pressure.
Use x for the value in atm, b for the intermediate value in Pa, and y for the result in bar.
bar = atm × 101325 ÷ 100000
Worked examples
10 atm ≈ 10.1325 bar
Step 1: (10 × 101325) ≈ 1013250 Pa.
Step 2: 1013250 ÷ 100000 ≈ 10.1325 bar.20 atm ≈ 20.265 bar
Step 1: (20 × 101325) ≈ 2026500 Pa.
Step 2: 2026500 ÷ 100000 ≈ 20.265 bar.
Results are rounded to 12 significant digits. Converting units does not increase the precision of the original measurement. Very large or small values outside JavaScript’s finite numeric range are rejected.
