This policy describes how exactunit.com (ExactUnit) handles information when you use our converters and read our articles.
Overview
ExactUnit (“we”, “us”) provides free unit converters and educational articles. No account or sign-in is required. This policy is provided in English and explains information processing and the choices available to you.
Information processed in your browser
Our converters process your numbers and text in your browser. We do not intentionally send the values or text entered into converters to Google Analytics. Avoid entering confidential or sensitive personal information into any public website.
The converter directory filters its entries locally in your browser; your search text is not sent to an ExactUnit search server. We do not maintain user accounts or a database of calculator inputs.
Information processed automatically
Loading a website requires your browser to send technical information, including your IP address, requested URL, and browser information, to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting providers may process request logs for delivery, security, and troubleshooting. Retention of those logs depends on the hosting configuration.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people use and improve the site. The Google tag loads on each page with analytics and advertising storage denied by default. Before analytics consent, Google may receive cookieless measurement signals under Consent Mode; analytics cookies are enabled only with your consent. Google may process identifiers, page visits, interactions, approximate location derived from an IP address, and browser and device information. Analytics cookies distinguish browsers and sessions.
We use measurement ID G-98L7J4FQ0R. Our initial page-view configuration excludes URL query strings and referrers, and disables Google signals and advertising personalization. Analytics cookies remain disabled until you enable Analytics in Cookie settings or choose “Allow analytics.” Rejecting analytics does not affect the converters.

Cookies and your choices
We remember your analytics choice in local storage on this browser for up to 180 days. This preference storage is used to respect your choice. If you allow analytics, Google may set cookies named _ga and _ga_…; their expiry is controlled by Google Analytics and the property settings.
Use the Cookie settings button in the footer to change your choice or withdraw consent. Withdrawing analytics consent returns Google Analytics to cookieless measurement and removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies. It does not erase information already collected by Google. You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser. If browser storage is blocked, we may ask again on your next page visit.
Advertising and notifications
We load Monetag when a page opens to support this free service with third-party advertising. The Google Analytics controls in Cookie settings do not block Monetag. Notification subscriptions, where offered, require your browser’s separate notification permission.
Monetag and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, web beacons, or a site service worker to deliver and measure ads. Its practices are described in the Monetag Privacy Policy. Advertising is not required to use our converters or articles.
You can manage or block advertising cookies and site data through your browser settings or content-blocking tools. You can also revoke notification permission and remove the site’s service worker in browser settings. Withdrawal does not erase information already held by advertising partners; contact the provider about that information.
Children
ExactUnit is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the service.
Retention and international processing
The local consent preference expires after 180 days. Analytics retention depends on the Google Analytics property settings; cookie lifetime and server-side data retention are separate. Google, advertising partners, and hosting providers may process information outside your country under their applicable transfer arrangements.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
