How to convert bits per second to kilobits per second
A byte per second is 8 bits per second. Decimal Mbps and binary Mibit/s differ. These rates exclude protocol overhead; real transfer time also depends on throughput and latency.
Use x for the value in bit/s, b for the intermediate value in bit/s, and y for the result in kbit/s.

Worked examples

Step 1: (10 × 1) ≈ 10 bit/s.
Step 2: 10 ÷ 1000 ≈ 0.01 kbit/s.20 bit/s ≈ 0.02 kbit/s
