How to convert megabytes to gigabytes
One byte is 8 bits. Decimal kilo/mega/giga use powers of 1000; binary kibi/mebi/gibi use powers of 1024. Marketing capacity and operating-system displays can therefore differ.
Use x for the value in MB, b for the intermediate value in B, and y for the result in GB.

Step 1: (10 × 1000000) ≈ 10000000 B.
Step 2: 10000000 ÷ 1000000000 ≈ 0.01 GB.20 MB ≈ 0.02 GB
Step 1: (20 × 1000000) ≈ 20000000 B.
Step 2: 20000000 ÷ 1000000000 ≈ 0.02 GB.
Results are rounded to 12 significant digits. Converting units does not increase the precision of the original measurement. Very large or small values outside JavaScript’s finite numeric range are rejected.
