How to convert megabytes to bytes
One byte is 8 bits. Decimal kilo/mega/giga use powers of 1000; binary kibi/mebi/gibi use powers of 1024. Marketing capacity and operating-system displays can therefore differ.
Use x for the value in MB, b for the intermediate value in B, and y for the result in B.
B = MB × 1000000
Worked examples
10 MB ≈ 10000000 B

Step 2: 10000000 ÷ 1 ≈ 10000000 B.20 MB ≈ 20000000 B

Results are rounded to 12 significant digits. Converting units does not increase the precision of the original measurement. Very large or small values outside JavaScript’s finite numeric range are rejected.
