How to convert mebibytes to bytes
One byte is 8 bits. Decimal kilo/mega/giga use powers of 1000; binary kibi/mebi/gibi use powers of 1024. Marketing capacity and operating-system displays can therefore differ.
Use x for the value in MiB, b for the intermediate value in B, and y for the result in B.
B = MiB × 1048576
Worked examples
10 MiB ≈ 10485760 B
Step 1: (10 × 1048576) ≈ 10485760 B.
Step 2: 10485760 ÷ 1 ≈ 10485760 B.20 MiB ≈ 20971520 B

Results are rounded to 12 significant digits. Converting units does not increase the precision of the original measurement. Very large or small values outside JavaScript’s finite numeric range are rejected.
