How to convert deci units to deca units
Prefixes scale the same underlying unit. These are decimal factors, not binary storage prefixes. For squared or cubed units, apply the prefix power to the entire prefixed unit separately.
Use x for the value in d, b for the intermediate value in (unit), and y for the result in da.
da = d × 0.1 ÷ 10
Worked examples
10 d ≈ 0.1 da
Step 1: (10 × 0.1) ≈ 1 (unit).
Step 2: 1 ÷ 10 ≈ 0.1 da.20 d ≈ 0.2 da
Step 1: (20 × 0.1) ≈ 2 (unit).
Step 2: 2 ÷ 10 ≈ 0.2 da.
Results are rounded to 12 significant digits. Converting units does not increase the precision of the original measurement. Very large or small values outside JavaScript’s finite numeric range are rejected.
